Sr. Sustainability Analyst

Job Description Summary

This position will support the client's Environmental Sustainability team to track Scope 1, 2, and 3
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sustainability Analyst with hands-on experience working in sustainability, preferably in the real estate sector. This position will support our client's Environmental Sustainability team to track Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data and assist with sustainability initiatives throughout the client's real estate portfolio focusing on the Americas Region. The position will require a demonstrated passion for environmental sustainability and a keen eye for detail. The role will report to the Global Sustainability and Energy Manager on the same account.
Experience with sustainability, energy management, and/or green building certifications is required, along with excellent data skills and proficiency in excel and/or Smartsheet.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as subject matter expert for the Americas region
  • Maintain client's Scope 1, 2, and 3 data:
    • QA/QC responsibilities for real estate data reporting
    • Support the client with all required reporting
    • Work with facilities and real estate teams across the region to implement initiatives to reduce Scope 1 & 2 emissions
    • Develop and deliver training on sustainability topics
    • Lead waste-related certifications for offices
    • Track waste data and identify areas of opportunity
    • Support the creation and delivery of training on zero waste strategies and proper waste segregation
  • Lead green building certifications and recertification for the region
  • Represent the C&W Sustainability Team in all green certification sustainability meeting
  • Successfully lead sustainability projects from conception to completion, including project management, and financial tracking
  • Support facilities management with any sustainability enquires and identification of any areas of opportunity
  • Preparation of dashboards and data visualization for the client
  • Present to client at quarterly meetings
  • Participate in client meetings and workshops and maintain required documentation
  • Conduct benchmarking and research on sustainability trends

MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field will be considered
  • 3+ years experience

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Have experience of green certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, Greenstar, etc. or willing to gain accreditation
  • Experience of implementing sustainability initiatives to drive emissions reductions
  • Needs to be detail oriented and be able to use Microsoft Excel to a high level and/or Smartsheet

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiarity with GHG reporting
  • Experience of implementing sustainability initiatives, in particular energy efficiency initiatives
  • Green accreditations strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with interval data, meter readings, local and international green certification, energy efficiency programs and sustainability organizations
  • Proven collaboration skills, administrative ability, technical background, and project responsibility experience
