Job description

Exceptional Care for Children (ECC) has an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing healthcare team as a Housekeeping and Laundry Aide. We are seeking candidates available for full time employment, 40 hours per week (typical schedule Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday 8:30am-5:00pm).
ECC is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization committed to providing the highest quality of care and services to pediatric patients requiring transitional, long term, and/or palliative care. We are an around-the-clock residential facility that provides skilled care to medically fragile children, birth to age 21, who have a technology dependency.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Maintain Environmental Sanitation
  • Dons appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Practices infection control isolation precautions according to infection Control Isolation policy.
  • Prepares cleaning solution according to written standards.
  • Cleans equipment and maintains floor stock.
  • Pulls all trash & soiled linen and replaces bags.
  • Picks up all mats, shakes them to loosen debris and cleans floor underneath.
  • Cleans and shines sink in assigned zone.
  • Checks zone for equipment and returns to proper location.
  • Dust mop, wet mop and/or auto scrub floors in zone.
  • Cleaning and waxing of floors according to schedule or as conditions warrant.
  • Cleans bathrooms in zone.
  • Replenishes paper products, soap and hand sanitizer in zone.
  • Checks, wipes and refill hand sanitizer dispensers in zone.
  • Completes high and low dusting in zone.
  • Cleans and disinfects all equipment and surfaces including overhead lights, walls and ceiling.
  • Assist with wheelchair cleaning and sanitation.
  • Collect, sort, and prepare soiled linens/clothing for wash. Operate washers and dryers.
  • Perform labor intensive physical activities without assistance (including but not necessarily limited to standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling, and bending)
  • Ideal candidates should be well coordinated with the capacity to complete lifting, folding, linen distribution and operation of machinery.
  • Team player - should be willing and able to take direction and assist in general housekeeping functions as well as housekeeping emergencies as they arise.
  • Additionally, individuals should possess a strong attention to detail as it relates to keeping a neat, clean, and organized workspace.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in laundry, housekeeping, custodial field, environmental services, and/or an employee of a long term nursing facility preferred.
  • Candidates should have the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Display willingness to reliably adhere to company dress code, attendance, and policies/procedures.

  • Must possess basic computer skills to complete annual compliance training and be proficient at using Windows 365 as well as SharePoint for daily communication and information update.
