We’re looking for a self-starter who’s motivated, dependable, people-oriented, and comfortable working with a variety of different people. You’ll lead with confidence, coach in the moment, and support the team while doing the work to keep our buildings looking their best. Job Overview: Prepare, direct and supervise staff, tasks, and custodial functions to meet and exceed cleanliness, safety, and service standards

Create Lasting Change: The Impact You’ll Have:

  • Prepares, directs and supervises team assignments for cleaning of facilities. Develops and implements weekly/monthly employee scheduling.
  • Inspects storage areas, chemical closets and inventory to ensure compliance with pre-determined levels and safety policies are being met.
  • Ensures that company and department policies and procedures are being followed by employees (cleaning service standards, appearance/grooming, personal conduct standards, guest service standards, safety, ensuring equipment and chemicals are kept out of reach of children/customers/employees, etc.).
  • Communicates effectively with customers, children, and employees, keeping high quality customer service and confidentiality as the primary consideration.
  • Assists with interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees. Includes employee training and development. Completes performance appraisals and conducts disciplinary actions.
  • Leads, mentors, coaches, provides guidance, support and motivation to their staff.
  • Works with Director/Manager on any recommendations for other departments' Environmental Services needs

Job Requirements: 

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • 2+ years' experience in environmental services or facility maintenance/management.
  • 1+ years of indirect or direct people leadership experience (may include informal leadership experience).
  • Working knowledge of Environmental service practices, and SDS guidelines.
  • Previous experience with leadership, training & mentoring employees.
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Class D driver’s license required with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work weekends and special events on non-scheduled days that may arise with little notice.
  • Ability to move in a variety of motions including bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, twisting, pulling, and/ or pushing.
  • Capacity to handle and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodations, including on feet 75% of time.
  • Proficiency in maintaining safety while handling potential fumes, chemicals, odors, and/or noise.
