JOB SUMMARY:

The Academy Charter School Science Teacher implements engaging lessons aligned to standards with the aim of educating students by designing, developing, and delivering quality lesson plans and curricula that adhere to school guidelines. Teachers create a safe, open environment where a structure is maintained, and student progress is assessed. Differentiation and accommodations should also be provided to allow all students to grow. Finally, teachers are also expected to ensure that safety rules are followed and ensure the proper use of equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop daily lessons aligned with The Academy Charter Schools curriculum in collaboration with leadership team members
  • Teach high school level science and lab classes using lectures, technology, and hands-on learning experiences
  • Prepare demonstrations; Assist and supervise students while conducting experiments
  • Evaluate student performance on tasks established by the standards using different methods such as observation, performance-based tasks, or other standard test practices
  • Establish classroom and lab rules and regulations
  • Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students
  • Participate actively in coaching and professional development programming
  • Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time

Pay Transparency: The salary range for this role is $62,500 - $120,000. Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
