Job description

Position Overview
The Performance Intern supports the club's daily performance operations through the collection, organization, and reporting of player physical performance data. This role is ideal for someone pursuing a career in sports science, strength & conditioning, or performance analysis and looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional soccer environment.
This internship will begin immediately and run through November 30.
This position may be offered as either:
  • A paid internship, or
  • An unpaid internship for academic credit or experience, depending on the candidate's background, availability, and program requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Training Support & Data Collection
  • Attend all first team training sessions (4 days per week, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
  • Collect and manage daily physical performance data including:
    • GPS data
    • Player weights
    • RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) scores
  • Ensure all data is collected accurately and consistently

Live Training Monitoring
  • Support live tracking of player loads and training data during sessions
  • Accurately track training periods and session structure
  • Assist performance staff in maintaining real-time monitoring standards throughout training

Reporting & Communication
  • Present key physical performance insights during daily staff meetings
  • Prepare and distribute post-session reports to the Head Coach and technical staff
  • Ensure reports are clear, organized, and delivered in a timely manner

Game Day Responsibilities
  • Attend all home matches (typically Saturday's 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM)
  • Support live physical performance tracking and data collection on game days
  • Assist staff with any performance-related monitoring and reporting needs during matches

Work Structure & Expectations
  • Required attendance at:
    • First team training sessions (4x per week)
    • All home matches
  • Primarily in-person role with daily collaboration alongside coaching and performance staff
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability are essential
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism within a high-performance environment
