Senior Risk Specialist

About the Role:

The role will involve carrying out qualitative and quantitative risk analyses to support Maritime and Energy Clients with the management of their risks, including the assessment of novel technologies and systems to assist them with their decarbonisation journey.

This role requires travel to support our international customers and to facilitate workshops as required.

The Role

  • To manage and support projects within Risk Team portfolio and ensure they are in accordance with quality system requirements, cost structures and budgetary / contractual requirements. This could include:
    • Facilitating / Chairing qualitative risk studies (e.g. HAZIDs, HAZOPs) or supporting others as a scribe.
    • Leading or supporting QRAs
    • Completing a technical review of risk assessments completed by other team members
  • To conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
  • To establish, develop and maintain long-term client relationships, using feedback to continually develop our services, processes / procedures and deliverables.
  • To develop technical proposals for clients, including estimated costs and timescales for delivery.
  • To expand on or develop business opportunities to offer clients and where necessary present / promote these internally and externally.
  • To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
  • To support the development of others within the organisation through coaching and effective knowledge transfer.

 

What you bring

  • Good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques, with experience facilitating / chairing workshops.
  • In depth working experience in risk assessment / qualitative risk management.
  • Customer focussed, proactive and highly motivated to support clients, by meeting their deadlines and regularly updating them on progress
  • Strong team-working and interpersonal skills
  • Good communication / influencing skills
  • Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work, with the ability to produce comprehensive and detailed written reports.
  • Experience in Marine, Oil and Gas and/or Energy Sectors. (desirable)
  • Knowledge of QRA Software (e.g. PHAST / SAFETI). (desirable)
  • Project management experience. (desirable)
  • Functional Safety Qualification. (desirable)
