Role Description:
Arcadis is seeking a Principal Environmental Specialistto provide senior-level technical, regulatory, and strategic support for environmental restoration, compliance, permitting, and emerging contaminant projects across the United States. This position will be on a part time as needed basis and can report to any U.S. office and offers flexibility through hybrid work arrangements. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience navigating complex environmental regulations, developing regulatory strategies, and advising clients on high-profile environmental challenges.
Role accountabilities:
  • Provide senior technical and regulatory leadership for environmental restoration, remediation, permitting, compliance, and emerging contaminant projects.

  • Develop and implement regulatory and stakeholder engagement strategies that support successful project outcomes

  • Advise clients on federal and state environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance obligations.

  • Lead interactions and negotiations with regulators, government agencies, tribal entities, and other stakeholders.

  • Supporting business development by identifying and pursuing growth opportunities with existing and new clients.

This position may involve up to 15% travel to client sites and meetings within North America.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.

  • 25+ years of experience in environmental restoration, regulatory compliance, permitting, or environmental consulting.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, including RCRA and related cleanup programs.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Environmental engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
