FIELD SERVICE ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN
The Opening

We are currently seeking an Emergency Response Environmental Technician to be based out of our Merrillville, IN office to assist with hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following PROS - Pause, Review, Observe, Start
  • Performs non-emergency and emergency response activities involving hazardous materials
  • Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the shift
  • Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces, and at heights
  • Operates and works around light and heavy equipment including skid steers, forklifts, and pressure washers
  • Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Maintains warehouse, stocks supplies, and performs building maintenance
  • Available for emergency response work after-hours and on weekends
  • Travel is required
  • Maintains an excellent driving history
What does it take to work at Environmental Restoration?
  • Pass a Pre-Employment drug screening, criminal background check, and physical exam
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States (Verified through E-Verify)
  • Willingness to obtain OSHA (40 hour) Certification
  • Ability and willingness to work in a physically intensive role
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments
  • Clean driving record

Environmental experience, hazardous waste experience and certification (i.e. OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER), CDL, heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience is a plus.
