Description
Terraphase is seeking a well-rounded Project Manager with experience in environmental site investigation and remediation to join our team in our Oakland or Pleasanton, CA offices. In this role, the successful candidate will independently manage projects, support diverse client needs, and apply technical expertise to solve complex environmental challenges across soil, groundwater, and vapor systems.
The Role
At the Senior Project level, the successful candidate will deliver the key responsibilities described below at the deliverable or project level under the supervision of Terraphase Senior- and Principal-level staff, including Terraphase project managers, Client Managers, and internal subject matter experts.
At the Associate level, the successful candidate will lead and manage the delivery of key responsibilities described below in collaboration with Terraphase Principal-level staff, but with day-to-day responsibility for safe, quality, and efficient project delivery,
• Lead and manage site characterization, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and remediation implementation projects.
• Coordinate field efforts, subcontractors, and internal technical teams. Provide direction to staff on field and office work tasks.
• Ensure deliverables meet regulatory standards (RCRA, DTSC, CERCLA, RWQCB, SWRCB).
• Maintain quality communication with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Use Terraphase project management software to assign, track, and review the quality and timely delivery of project tasks.
• Manage project finances, including monitoring project financial metrics using Terraphase financial management software, managing scope and budget, managing changes in scope, and timely project invoicing.
Who You Are
• 7-15 years of environmental consulting experience.
• PE or PG licensure in California.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with current refresher training.
• Strong health and safety awareness and culture
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with in-situ and ex-situ remediation, or innovative remediation methods.
• Proven project diversity across industrial, commercial, and private development sectors.
• Comfortable with regulator interaction and client conversations.
• Experienced in project financial management with project budgets of $200,000 or more.
Compensation for this position is based on years of experience, technical expertise, technical education, and geographic location.

$100,000-$140,000 USD
