Job description

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):



  • While working to achieve N3B LLCC objectives, will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner; will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.

  • Manages and oversees N3B Environmental Programs/Services organization.

  • Provides overall supervisory leadership for staff to support implementation of NEPA, environmental review, archeological/SHPO program support, cultural resources, NRDA, environmental monitoring, support to the Annual Site Environmental Report, and the environmental radiation protection program (DOE Order 458.1 implementation).

  • Interprets, recommends, and complies with environmental, health and safety regulations and/or company policies.

  • Assists in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet new environmental requirements.

  • Writes and updates environmental program plans and procedures.

  • Prepares environmental review documentation.

  • Manages Routine Environmental Monitoring and Surveillance Program

  • LANL Environmental Program experience highly desired.



Minimum Qualifications:




  • Expert knowledge and ability to develop and apply highly advanced principles, concepts and techniques of program management in specified Environmental areas.


  • Skill and ability to perform critical strategic tasks and to interpret broad strategic requirements and develop and execute plans to satisfy them.



  • Ability to have major impact on organizational success and productivity, with extensive latitude for independent judgment.



  • Ability to communicate effectively at the highest levels.



  • Ability to oversee operational activities for programs and projects in the organization.



  • Ability to train and mentor more junior staff.



  • Viewed as an expert within a specialty and as highly competent within the broad discipline, both internally and externally.



  • Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job.




Education and Experience Required:


Bachelors' degree in appropriate discipline; however, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements (Light Work):
