MUSC Health Pee Dee Primary Care is seeking a full-time BC/BE Family Medicine physician who is interested in building a rewarding career within a well-known academic health system. This is an opportunity for an innovative primary care physician to play an integral role in growing and shaping the Family Medicine Residency Program at MUSC Health - Florence Medical Center, while also positively impacting rural healthcare access within our state.

MUSC Health Pee Dee Primary Care is conveniently located on the main hospital campus. Required Qualifications:

  • BC/BE in Family Medicine
  • Unrestricted SC licensure
  • Federal and state-controlled substance registration
  • Demonstrated interest in the education of residents
  • Compassion, professionalism, and dedication to lifelong learning
  • Collaborative and collegial demeanor with commitment to high quality patient care

Position Highlights:

  • Split time between educational, administrative, and clinical care
  • Serve as a role model, mentor, and advisor to residents in the program
  • Participate in the selection, orientation, and evaluation of residents
  • Promote family medicine care, preferably practicing the full scope of ambulatory primary care medicine; 4-5 weeks per year focusing on inpatient care
  • Support the Program Director (PD) and Associate Program Director (APD) in the implementation of policies and procedures consistent with institutional and program requirements (e.g. resident clinical and educational work hours and clinical learning environment)
  • Prepare and deliver structured educational activities as requested by the APD or PD
  • Participate in resident scholarship with the goal of one scholarly project per year
