Environmental and Stormwater Intern
Fast-growing Town of Holly Springs seeks an energetic candidate with a passion for public service who can assist with the Town's growing environmental and stormwater needs.
Preferred Start/End Date: July through August (Flexible) with option for up to 1 year
Hiring Range: $20.00/ hour
Employment Type: Temporary (minimum 10 weeks)
Work Schedule: Negotiable
Location: Town Hall, 128 S Main St., Holly Springs, NC, 27540

This position will perform a variety of professional work:
• Assisting with completion of asset tracking and mapping, as it relates to the Town's storm drainage network
• Assisting with implementing the Town's Stormwater Enterprise Fee, including assuring accurate and equitable billing, maintaining impervious surface records, and liaising with the Department of Finance.
• Conducting gap analyses and recommending areas of improvement of internal processes related to environmental compliance measures, as well as Town drainage infrastructure repair and improvement projects. This includes analysis of the Town's NPDES Ph II Stormwater Program, NCDEQ-Delegated Erosion and Sedimentation Control Program and completed storm water projects.
• Other duties and projects as assigned by the Environmental and Stormwater Manager and Assistant Director of Facilities and Stormwater
Education and Experience:
The position requires enrollment or graduation in curriculum relating to environmental science, program analysis, environmental policy, environmental technologies or a related field. Experience with ArcGIS, GPS/Collector Applications and Microsoft Excel/Access preferred. An ideal candidate would have experience in this or a related field. Must possess a valid N.C. Driver's license.
