Maintenance Planner



Position Summary

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and adequate spare‑parts availability. This role plays a key part in advancing the maintenance organization from reactive to proactive practices while supporting a 24/7 production environment. The position ensures compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and the Management Operating Structure (MOS).

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Sunday off)
Compensation: $30.00/hour, or salary based on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Maintenance Planning & Execution

  • Create, manage, and document work orders. Work orders may also be written /post by others.
  • Develop and maintain weekly and daily maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate and plan tasks with Maintenance, Operations, and other departments to minimize downtime. Prioritize works orders with teams.
  • Create job plans, update as needed.
  • Estimate required labor, tools, and materials for maintenance tasks.
  • Support and optimize preventive (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs.
  • Use CMMS data to analyze performance trends and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and monitor key metrics (MTBF, MTTR).
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, work history, and asset hierarchy.
  • Ensure proper documentation of failure codes, parts usage, Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Train employees on CMMS processes and best practices
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  • Follow all required work safe practices, including lockout-tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
  • Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Inventory & Procurement Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and MRO supplies.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Receive, verify, and issue parts based on work order requirements.
  • Purchase parts, create purchase requisitions and track order status with vendors.
  • Organize and maintain the storeroom for accessibility and accuracy.
  • Identify and manage obsolete or slow‑moving inventory.
  • Balance inventory levels to avoid stockouts and minimize carrying costs.


Continuous Improvement & Safety

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and share departmental best practices.
  • Implement corrective actions derived from KPIs.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and all safety protocols, including PPE requirements.
  • Apply 5S methodology and maintain, lead so others follow


Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum two years of plant maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial processes, machinery, and parts.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office.
  • Effective communication skills and strong math proficiency.
  • Ability to follow safety standards and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in food and beverage industry

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.

Technical Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of economy motion techniques
  • Able to operate production equipment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to write legibly to complete paperwork
  • Basic Math skills

  • Follow and comply with all safety standards

Physical Demands and Work Environment
