Overview
Position Summary:
Provide consistent support to the Corporate Environmental Manager (CEM), Senior Directors, and Senior Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety focused on the implementation of environmental programs at construction projects. Participate in planning, organizing, provide environmental training, and monitor compliance within environmental duties at these project work sites. Work with project teams to manage environmental risks and compliance obligations through assessments and collaboration while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and corporate environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Location & Travel Details:
You'll get the opportunity to work across the US, helping our team build renewable projects. This position can be remote with regular travel (up to 75%) to job sites. When travel is required, meals and lodging will be covered on a corporate expense card.

Responsibilities
  • Able to understand and implement Government and Company environmental regulations and environmental risk management in a construction environment
  • Must have excellent communication with the Corporate Environmental Manager and Project Teams regarding compliance of project sites and quickly remedy any deficiencies
  • Support the implementation environmental processes at project sites
  • Conduct environmental site assessments to assure environmental compliance objectives are in use at jobsites
  • Review project weekly environmental checks and take appropriate actions
  • Provide environmental site assessment reports outlining project visits weekly to the Corporate Environmental Manager
  • Support project teams on any identified environmental issues
  • In the event a serious environmental condition is identified, assure that complete and appropriate corrective action is taken
  • Provide support in investigating incidents and developing and implementing meaningful corrective actions
  • Assist project management when appropriate in the establishment of the environmental program, including agency interaction and contact information
  • Ensure site EHS plans are current and relevant
  • Support implementation of the Environmental Management System
  • Willing to travel to projects on a regular basis (Travel expected is 75%)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Environmental Manager I:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of environmental and safety experience
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in related field is required
  • Familiarity with USEPA regulations is required
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • Compensation $85,000 - $95,000 / year, commensurate with experience

Environmental Manager II:
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in related field is required
  • Certification in Environmental Management Programs preferred
  • Experience with EPA regulations is required
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • Compensation $95,000 - $110,000 / year, commensurate with experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward MasTec's Zero Injury principles
  • Ability to provide a high level of EHS leadership to both management and craft workers
  • Strong understanding of Clean Water Act focused on Hazardous Waste Control Plans, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC) and Storm-water Plans (SWPPP)
  • Ability to review key environmental plans and engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of Environmental Laws and regulations
  • Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
