Job description

Description
Looking for Your Next Opportunity in Construction Forensic Accounting, Claims, or Dispute Advisory?
At DLA, our FVLS team supports clients in high-stakes situations, providing forensic accounting, fraud investigations, damages analyses, valuations, and litigation support services. You'll work on complex matters that shape outcomes, all within a people-first, growth-oriented environment. If you're passionate about forensic accounting and financial dispute resolution, you'll find meaningful work here with a team that values People First, is Driven to Deliver, Evolves with Purpose, and is Stronger Together.
We're currently looking for a Managing Director or Partner - Construction Forensic Accounting & Expert Services to join our Forensics, Valuation & Litigation Support (FVLS) team. If you're ready to take on high-profile disputes and expert testimony work-and grow your career in a firm that values both excellence and balance-we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
As a senior leader, you will expand DLA's capabilities in construction-related forensic accounting and litigation support. Your day-to-day may include:
  • Leading forensic accounting investigations involving embezzlement, misappropriation of funds, double billing, improper cost allocations, and non-compliance with construction contracts
  • Analyzing construction financial records, cost reports, change orders, pay applications, and supporting documentation to identify irregularities and quantify damages
  • Providing expert testimony in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Preparing expert reports, rebuttals, financial analyses, and demonstratives that withstand cross-examination
  • Advising attorneys, owners, contractors, and insurers on complex financial and contract-related issues
  • Developing and executing strategic growth plans for the FVLS practice
  • Building new client relationships and deepening existing ones to generate business opportunities
  • Mentoring and developing junior professionals and contributing to overall practice development

What You'll Bring
We know great team members come from a variety of backgrounds. Some things we typically look for:
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA required for Partner consideration; advanced credentials such as CFF or CFE are a plus)
  • 12+ years of experience in forensic accounting, construction disputes, financial investigations, or litigation support
  • A proven track record as an expert witness in construction-related financial disputes
  • Deep familiarity with construction cost structures, contract compliance, pay application processes, and common fraud schemes
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial issues
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in practice growth
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client matters

Why Join DLA?
We're not your typical firm. DLA combines the expertise of a national advisory practice with the flexibility and entrepreneurial spirit of a startup. You'll work closely with leadership, have a direct impact on the firm's growth, and experience a culture rooted in trust and flexibility.
Here's what sets us apart:
  • Emphasis on work-life balance compared to traditional audit or advisory firms
  • Flexible PTO (plus your birthday as a holiday)
  • Direct client exposure from day one
  • Clear career path to leadership & Partner
  • Hybrid work model with flexibility built in
  • 401(k) match, referral programs, and comprehensive benefits

Come Be a Part of Our Success Story
At DLA, we're committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We hire great people from all backgrounds-because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for forensic consulting and dispute resolution, you'll find a home here.
We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities throughout the application process.
