Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support the team through a structured capstone project aligned to key business needs. This role offers hands-on experience in an industrial safety manufacturing environment, exposure to real-world challenges, and the opportunity to present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary by function but may include:

  • Execute a manufacturing-focused capstone project aligned to productivity, cost, or throughput improvement
  • Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify waste, bottlenecks, or safety risks
  • Support layout optimization, standard work development, and process documentation
  • Assist with time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow improvements
  • Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and engineers to implement practical solutions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles
  • Participate in Intern Week, professional development sessions, and networking events
  • Present final project outcomes and recommendations during Capstone Presentations to leadership

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
    (Engineering, Operations, EHS, Finance, Business, Marketing, HR, Analytics, or related discipline)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Curiosity, initiative, and interest in industrial manufacturing or safety solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); additional tools a plus
