Job description


LaBella Associates is currently sourcing Summer 2026 intern candidates for our Operations Department in Rochester, NY or Buffalo, NY.

Duties:

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments at an organizational compacity. Support identification of workplace hazards and development of mitigation strategies. Maintain and organize health and safety documentation, including compliance and incident reports. Assist with regulatory compliance activities as applicable. Support the review and enhancement of health and safety programs and procedures through review of applicable regulations. Conduct site visits to confirm work activities are within organization and regulatory compliance requirements.

Safety Culture & Continuous Improvement

Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses. Assist in tracking and verifying completion of corrective actions. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing risk and enhancing workplace safety. Promote safety awareness initiatives across the organization Attend and support safety committee goals and objectives.

Training, Communication & Reporting

Assist in preparing safety training materials and presentations. Develop organizational health and safety training matrix. Assist in coordinating safety training and employee awareness programs Perform other duties as assigned There will be some occasional travel to visit projects within the Rochester and Buffalo area.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational safety, engineering, or a related field. Previous experience in health and safety is a plus but not required.

Salary Range: $16 - $20/hour
