Job description

The Senior Resident Engineer Manager (R.E.) will apply advanced problem solving and engineering knowledge to identify risks and create risk mitigation plans to resolve production and quality system deficiencies. The Senior Resident Engineer Manager R.E. will oversee and review project deliverables throughout the project lifecycle ensuring the product meets or exceeds customers' needs and expectations. The Senior Resident Engineer Manager will support corporate quality objectives/deliverables and communicate customer demands to all groups involved to ensure organizational success. The Senior Resident Engineer Manager will have vast leadership responsibilities including but not limited to: providing expert technical leadership in coordinating and directing cross functional teams in the application of quality initiatives, providing clear direction to skilled and non-skilled trades in the operation of product testing and evaluation to generate necessary quality test data. The Senior Resident Engineer Manager will provide technical directions to employees regarding root cause analysis, issue resolution and establish corrective actions serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the manufacturing facility. The Senior Resident Engineer Manager will lead teams to identify risks/hazards associated with product designs, processes, applications, applying lessons learned, and assist in the generation of FMEA's and associated control plans. The Senior Resident Engineer Manager will provide supervision necessary to perform, administer or direct rework/repair methods and processes in compliance with engineering standards, collaborate and lead internal and external resources to maintain strong customer relationships with dedication to the program schedule.
Additional job responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Protect product design intent and function while assisting with identification and solutions of manufacturing constraints
  • Deliver statistical analysis of data on competition, customer direction, product performance, employee performance and perception of the customer to the manufacturing team members
  • Interpret released engineering designs, specifications, materials and standards for hourly and salary personnel
  • Engineering process variation reduction
  • Employ advanced problem solving expertise to correct unfavorable variances and communicate alternative measures to mitigate engineering, timing and/or financial issues

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university (other Engineering degrees, in combination with relevant experience may be considered)
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Understanding of Cp/Cpk and statistical analysis
  • Well-versed in Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access
  • Effective presentation/public speaking skills
  • Experienced with problem solving tools
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and teach others
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate details from executive level to plant staff level
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work off shift hours as necessary
  • Self-motivated and directed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in engineering
