Responsibilities
The experienced engineer filling this position will primarily be involved in screening, selecting, designing, and implementing remediation and mitigation activities for soil, groundwater, sediment and stormwater at contaminated industrial and commercial sites. Typical job responsibilities include the following, depending on individual ability, skills, and experience:
 
  • Planning and implementing data collection and testing strategies to support environmental remediation and exposure mitigation
  • Reviewing and synthesizing soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water data
  • Assessing contaminant fate and transport in groundwater and surface waters
  • Identifying, evaluating, and designing mitigation and remediation actions for environmental contamination
  • Managing and directing project personnel and subcontractors
  • Managing projects and clients for site investigation and remediation projects
  • Preparing written deliverables
  • Performing regulatory compliance activities under Part 201, RCRA, and CERCLA
  • Presenting project findings and results to clients, regulators, and project partners
  • Supporting business development efforts to bring in new work

Qualifications
 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline, from an accredited university program is required. Masters degree is preferred but not required.
  • A professional engineering license and the ability to be licensed in states other than the original state of licensure.
  • Environmental consulting experience related to the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Experience managing environmental projects as a consultant.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as are strong analytical and computational abilities.
