Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst

Top 3 skillsets:
Prefer someone with experience doing models and forecasting – consumer electronics or mobile industry – doing promotional modeling. They work in Snowflake – if they have lots of SQL this is a transferrable skill they will be building some models in Python. Analytics – forecasting and modeling. A lot of work they've been getting involved with is modeling and forecasting for device sale and promotions to drive sales. Data analytics tied to marketing. Pratik – is a jack of all trades – gets pulled into anything data request related lots of data scientists and data analysts in finance industry - Finance industry ok? yes. Financial modeling and forecasting is relatively horizontal. Background in mobile – would be a plus but not required. Marketing background would be useful to forecasting sales any type of forecasting on the Product side would be preferred. Have to have ability to interpret data and display to us what the data is telling us. More than pulling data – they will be maintaining data from a couple diff data sources – aggregate and maintain data and put it in snowflake environment.

Job Description
Business intelligence (BI) analysts help guide and improve the way that businesses' management staff foster collaboration within and between departments. Those who desire to work as a BI analyst should demonstrate a strong understanding of managerial and professional skill sets. BI analysts are generally tasked with collaborating with a team of cross-departmental managers, and are expected to be able to demonstrate excellent leadership capabilities. They should also be well versed in many different aspects of business administration. Presentation skills are also a must as BI analysts are often expected to chair meetings discussing organizational data and future directions of the company. Analysts should also be prepared to lead seminars training new managers on different aspects of business intelligence. BI analysts should exhibit proficiency in many different Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel. Experience in an ERP system such as Oracle or SAP is usually considered a plus. It is also expected that analysts will naturally demonstrate superior creative thinking and decision making abilities consistently in their work. Finally, analysts should be capable of working within a diverse, global workforce that is consumer oriented.
Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst Tasks: Provide application analysis and data modeling design to collect data for centralized data warehouse. Extract data from databases and data warehouses for reporting and to facilitate sharing between multiple data systems. Proficient in the use of query and reporting analysis tools. Standardize data collection by developing methods for database design and validation reports.E18. 10 + years of experience. Must have experience with SQL and Tableau, Python a plus. Preferred experience with consumer electronics or mobile network operator analyzing promotions, sales forecasting, marketing and product analytics.
