Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Junior Data Analyst I (Dashboard Developer) in Englewood, CO.
About the Role:
We are looking for a sharp, curious Junior BA to join our team building and maintain operational dashboards in Grafana. You will be working on dashboards that support the deployment and monitoring of Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) infrastructure - specifically RPD activation workflows and streaming telemetry from vCMTS devices.
This is a hands-on role focused on data visualization, query writing, and dashboard design. You will work closely with a senior lead who will mentor you, help you ramp up on the domain, and gradually grow your exposure to stakeholders and customers. You don't need to know everything on day one - but you do need to be eager to learn and comfortable working with structured data.
Duties:
* Build, maintain, and improve Grafana dashboards used by operations and engineering teams
* Write and optimize queries against MongoDB (aggregation pipelines) and SQL-based data stores (StarTree Pinot)
* Translate business requirements into clear, usable dashboard visualizations
* Troubleshoot data issues and dashboard behavior
* Advise on data structure improvements to support better reporting (you won't code the changes, but your input matters)
* Document dashboard designs, query logic, and data models
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
* 0-2 years of relevant experience (internships, academic projects, and personal projects count)
Technical:
* Foundational understanding of computer science concepts (data structures, logic, how systems connect)
* Experience writing SQL or a similar language (academic or professional)
* Comfort working with structured data formats (JSON, CSV)
* Basic understanding of databases - what a query does, how data is organized, how joins work
* Ability to read and reason about code, even if you're not writing production software daily
Soft Skills:
* Strong problem-solving instinct - you like figuring things out
* Intellectual curiosity - you ask "why" and dig until you understand
* Clear communicator - you can explain what you built and why
* Coachable - you take feedback well and apply it quickly
* Detail-oriented - dashboards are only useful if the data is right
Nice-to-Have Skills:
* Exposure to Grafana or similar dashboarding/BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc.)
* Familiarity with MongoDB or NoSQL databases
* Familiarity with time-series data concepts or streaming data (Kafka, PromQL)
* Exposure to JSON manipulation or data transformation scripting (Python, JS, etc.)
* Comfort working in a telecom or infrastructure operations environment
* Interest in network technology or cable/broadband systems
* Experience (even informal) presenting data or insights to non-technical audiences
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
This job is not eligible for bonuses, incentives or commissions.
