Job Title: Mitigation Technician

Location: Comstock Park, Michigan
Reports To: Mitigation Lead Tech/Project Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time


About the Role

The Mitigation Technician is a key member of our restoration team, responsible for responding to water, fire, mold, and storm damage emergencies. This role performs hands-on mitigation and cleanup work, sets equipment, and supports job documentation to ensure high-quality results and exceptional customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in water, fire, mold, and storm mitigation and cleanup services
  • Set up, monitor, and remove restoration equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA vacuums, etc.)
  • Perform demolition as needed (drywall, flooring, insulation, trim)
  • Clean and sanitize affected areas according to IICRC and Servpro standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite, vehicle, and equipment
  • Document job progress, moisture readings, and customer communications using Servpro systems
  • Communicate professionally with customers, teammates, and project managers
  • Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment as required
  • Be available for rotating on-call schedule, including some evenings and weekends
  • Support Crew Chief and Project Manager with job execution and site leadership


Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on feet for extended periods, and tolerate various work environments
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability
  • Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred but not required:

  • Previous experience in construction, restoration, general labor, or trades
  • IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification
  • Experience operating restoration equipment
  • Basic understanding of moisture mapping and job documentation
