Position Summary

The EVS Tech performs various cleaning tasks to provide patients, visitors and staff with a safe and clean environment by maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation and freedom from hazards and infections. This position performs all cleaning of patient rooms and/or assigned areas including trash removal. Works as a member of the environmental service team to ensure the safety, health, and high morale of patients, visitors and staff by helping to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal interference to others.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Daily perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary hospital.
  • Empty hampers, transport clean and soiled linens, and assist with laundry as needed. 
  • Empty trash containers and remove all trash to keep work areas trash free.
  • Clean patient rooms to specified standards in order to turn hospital beds for new patients.
  • Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, etcetera, located in all assigned areas of the facility to ensure staff and patients have usable supplies.
  • May perform special projects such as windows washing, wall washing, removing heavily soiled items or floor finishing.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
  • Requires regular walking, standing, stooping, pushing and pulling and lifting (up to 20 pounds).
