What is an environment planner?

Environment Planners are professionals who develop and implement plans to manage natural resources, balance environmental protection with development, and ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. They work with government agencies, private companies, and communities to assess the environmental impact of projects, create sustainable land-use plans, and promote eco-friendly practices. Their responsibilities often include conducting environmental assessments, preparing reports, and recommending ways to minimize negative effects on the environment. This role requires knowledge of environmental science, policy, and planning principles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an environment planner?

• Coordinate with purchasing to align material availability with production start dates; flag shortages and expedite as needed.

• Maintain accurate routing, cycle time, and capacity data within Epicor to support scheduling fidelity.

• Collaborate with operations supervisors and machinists to understand actual vs. planned cycle times and adjust schedules accordingly.

• Participate in daily/weekly production meetings; provide clear schedule status updates and escalation of critical path issues.

• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) in compliance with ITAR regulations.

Preferred:

• Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems.

• Familiarity with APICS CPIM concepts or certification.
