ROLE

G&H is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety Manager to be a member of the site leadership team taking responsibility for maintaining, administering and modifying, as required, our EH&S policies. You will function as part of the local management team with a dotted line relationship to site Director of Operations as the local EHS prime.

The role is based in Moorpark, CA, working across multiple sites. In addition to managing and demonstrating compliance with all relevant environmental policies, programs and regulations, this includes managing site HAZMAT inventory and waste disposal; all relevant Occupational Health & Safety regulations, including the Site's IIPP; and site ISO14000 Environmental Management System.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 5 years of safety experience in related fields

Professional Certifications (CSP, ASP, CHMM, CIH) are highly desirable 

Solid practical experience managing HMBP & HMIS and demonstration of a lead OSHA role in a Manufacturing environment is a plus, ideally with multi-site responsibilities

Ability to interpret and react to changes to applicable Regulations at federal, state, and local level

Broad knowledge and understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations, and concepts (OSHA/Cal OSHA)

Ability to read, understand, and decipher technical information in determining applicability to site processes

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with a variety of internal and external contacts

Strong leadership, influencing, communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills

Structured work methodology along with being able to work independently

Pragmatic approach to problem solving and issues management

The ability to travel (25%-50%)

RESPONSIBILITIES

To support implementation of the Company's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and enable compliance to relevant procedures.

Overall responsibility for the Environmental and Health and Safety Management system and associated procedures. First responder for accident investigation.

Continually evolve best working practices and procedures to deliver ISO14001 and Environmental excellence and certification.

Analyzes organizational safety metrics and performs managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommends action plans to close gaps at an operational level.

Identifies and drives improvement opportunities across multi-functional teams to continually improve the business performance measures

Champion root cause analysis and preventative actions.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation for audits.

Reports EHS metrics and performs accident investigation to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level.

Participates in, and lead, the implementation and management of ISO14001 Systems including ownership of the audit schedule.

Management of safety equipment and statutory inspections.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Familiarization with ISO9001 and ISO14001 accredited management systems is essential.

Minimum of 5 years' experience within a quality management role working in the aerospace and defense sector.

Lead or Internal Auditor recognized certification is essential.

Knowledge, experience and understanding of Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) standards

Experience in Air/Water Permitting CALOSHA

Experience in Industrial Hygiene Assessments a Plus

Experience with coordinating multi-functional teams in delivering business objectives/initiatives.

Experience within safety and environmental Management 

Demonstrated knowledge and experience of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods, approaches, and tools, including strategic management.

Demonstrated ability to drive results in Quality and continuous improvement areas.

Mature Customer focused approach handling issues with urgency.

Experience in implementing process improvements using structured problem-solving methodologies.

Experienced in the use of Microsoft office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint essential
