Scope of Work
Access Healthcare's Patient Access Specialists are integral members of the Access Healthcare Engagement Center - providing call center support to ensure that our client partners are meeting the needs of their patients. Responsible for accurately scheduling patient appointments and providing community health information in a telephonic environment. This position works collaboratively with internal health coordination teams and client partners. We are seeking highly dependable candidates who are fluent in both in English and Spanish and take their work performance seriously. Candidates must enjoy working in a fast-paced and high energy environment while seeking ways to create a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Answer multi-line phone in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner
  • Accurately schedule appointments for multiple clinical sites according to protocols established by the client
  • Gather and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the practice management system to facilitate the registration process
  • Listen for and identify complex or clinical issues to the appropriate person/supervisor or client practice based on defined protocols
  • Assist callers and navigate them to appropriate resource as needed
  • Concisely and accurately document call activity, outcomes, and other notes as needed in Envera or client system
  • Work collaboratively with co-workers to meet the goals and objectives of the department
  • Meet attendance and performance standards

Key Requirements:
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Must be able to read, write and speak Spanish fluently
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • At least 6 months experience in a customer/patient service environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Prior Contact Center experience is a plus
