Job description

Envelope Converting Adjuster

Location: Syracuse, NY
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Job Overview

Dupli Envelope and Graphics is a leading commercial printing and envelope manufacturing company headquartered in Central New York. We are seeking a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented self-starter to join our Envelope Converting team. This position is responsible for setting up, adjusting, troubleshooting, and maintaining high-speed envelope converting equipment while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities
  • Set up envelope converting equipment for production runs.
  • Perform changeovers between jobs with minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and production issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
  • Monitor machine performance to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
A Typical Day Includes
  • Setting up folding and converting equipment according to order jacket specifications and production samples.
  • Obtaining required quality approvals before production begins.
  • Troubleshooting machine operation by analyzing equipment performance and making mechanical adjustments to eliminate defects and downtime.
  • Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet company quality standards.
  • Monitoring production counts and maintaining accurate box, carton, and skid quantities.
  • Adjusting machinery throughout production to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Replacing gum, window rolls, paper rolls, and other production materials as needed.
  • Verifying accurate labeling, printing, packaging, and order specifications throughout each production run.
  • Clearing paper jams and performing scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Communicating production concerns and equipment issues with supervisors and team members.
  • Assisting with continuous improvement efforts to increase productivity and reduce waste.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Envelope Converting Adjuster, Folding Machine Technician, Machine Adjuster, or similar manufacturing equipment technician.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and production issues efficiently.
  • Ability to read and interpret production orders and work instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of an 8-10 hour shift.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach while performing job duties.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment around moving machinery.
