Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


This entry-level Network Engineer role involves handling daily technical tasks, including taking calls, responding to emails, working on tickets, and preparing equipment. The engineer will also collaborate with senior network engineers on assigned projects, document procedures, and audit IP addresses. Additionally, the role involves working with field techs to finalize client installations for standard services.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Prepare, and reset equipment (Ubiquiti, Cisco, MikroTik, etc.) for installation

  • Install, replace, and troubleshoot network equipment, including routers, switches, APs, and phones

  • Manage daily technical tasks, including call handling, email responses, ticket resolution, and equipment preparation

  • Audit and organize inbound/outbound equipment shelves

  • Coordinate RMAs for faulty equipment with vendors

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to implement network solutions • Audit and update IP addresses as needed

  • Collaborate with field techs to complete client installations for standard services

  • Handle all tasks for HomeNet, BizNet, MultiNet, VoiceNet, AirNet, and VisionNet

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and changes

  • Communicate effectively with IT, customer service, and field technicians to ensure smooth operations

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel out of town as required

  • Availability to work any shift and punctuality required


Qualification and Skills


Educational & Professional:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Cisco CCNA (preferred), Jupiter, Aruba

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to pass a background check

  • Spanish Speakers are a plus


Technical Skills:


  • Familiarity with Layer 3 protocols (e.g., OSPF) and Layer 2 protocols (e.g., STP, VTP, VLAN, trunking)

  • Basic wired and wireless networking concepts

  • Entry-level troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve network issues


Soft Skills:


  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and customer service skills


Physical & Environmental:


  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs

  • Visual acuity to distinguish colors and fine details for installation and troubleshooting

  • Ability to work in various outdoor conditions, including inclement weather
