ABOUT THE POSITION

The Installer at AOS Interior Environments is an integral member of our Operations Team. Installers typically work on one of three specialized teams: Furniture, Manufactured Interior Construction, or Storage Solutions. They are responsible for executing deliveries, installations, moves, and reconfigurations of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) in adherence to floor plans, manufacturer guidelines, and safety standards. A high level of precision and a commitment to exceptional client satisfaction are critical in this role.


Our ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and demonstrates a strong technical aptitude. A positive, service-oriented attitude, coupled with problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic jobsite conditions, are essential for success. Interacting with clients and colleagues daily, you should approach all tasks with flexibility, creativity, and professionalism.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Installer, you will collaborate with various departments, including the Installation Team, Warehouse Team, Executive Team, and Designers/ Project Managers, ensuring successful project completion. Key responsibilities include:

  • Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload furniture, fixtures, and equipment while preserving product condition.
  • Installation: Learn and execute installations of commercial furniture, custom storage solutions, prefabricated interior wall systems, and interior acoustics.
  • Blueprints & Instructions: Accurately read and follow blueprints, layouts, and manufacturer installation instructions.
  • Jobsite Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite, including site cleanup and adherence to site-specific expectations.
  • Project Execution: Follow directions to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective job completion.
  • Documentation: Complete and submit all necessary paperwork, including signed completion forms, punch lists, and time/loss reports.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain a professional, service-minded demeanor when interacting with clients, project managers, and team members.
  • Travel: Be prepared for overnight travel for installations when required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated proficiency in installing millwork, trim carpentry, commercial ceiling products, and/or commercial furniture, fixtures, or equipment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to interpret and execute blueprints and layout designs accurately.
  • Skilled in assessing jobsite conditions to ensure proper task execution. 
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools commonly associated with entry-level construction work, such as drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, and levels.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve, make decisions, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.
  • Earn and maintain trust and respect among clients and team members.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 100 lbs. and occasionally handle objects exceeding this weight.
  • Possess the following vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Hold a valid driver's license (Class D) with vehicle insurance.
  • Comfortably and safely drive a 24-foot (or larger) truck.
  • Possession of TWIC, OSHA, Forklift, and/or Chauffeur's Licenses is a plus.
  • All candidates must successfully pass a drug screening as part of the hiring process.
  • All candidates must consent to a background screen and MVR screen as part of the hiring process.
