The Sales Development Representative is an enterprise role responsible for identifying, qualifying, and nurturing early-stage sales opportunities that fuel pipeline growth across Ascentek's multiple organizations. This is a dynamic, high-energy opportunity to connect with a wide range of customers-from major OEM manufacturers like Bobcat, to automotive dealership groups like Luther and Morrie's, to on-highway and off-highway construction fleets like VEIT, industrial manufacturers like Graco, and even companies looking to build or expand car wash operations. In this multifaceted role, you will uncover new business opportunities, spark meaningful conversations, and help drive sales of lubricants, chemicals, batteries, and car wash solutions. This bridges Marketing and Sales, ensuring a consistent flow of quality prospects by utilizing research, outbound engagement, and follow-up processes. They will work closely with Sales and Marketing to target ideal customer profiles and accelerate new business conversations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prospect Research & Identification:

    • Build targeted prospect lists using CRM (Salesforce) data, Seamless.AI (lead generation software/application), industry databases, and web research
    • Identify decision-makers and influencers within target organizations
    • Segment prospects by industry, size, buying potential, and fit with Ascentek's offerings
    • Lead and coordinate targeted sales blitz activities with Sales leaders and team members, including account selection, outreach planning, and tracking results

  • Outbound Lead Generation:

    • Execute multi-touch outreach sequences (email, phone, LinkedIn, etc.)
    • Craft personalized messaging tailored to buyer roles and verticals
    • Introduce Ascentek's products/services and establish initial interest

  • Inbound Lead Qualification:

    • Triage inbound leads generated from campaigns, the company website, events, or referrals
    • Apply to Ascentek's qualification standards to ensure readiness for sales involvement

  • Pipeline Management & Handoff:

    • Record all activities, insights, and qualification notes in CRM (Salesforce)
    • Maintain accurate lead statuses, next steps, and follow-up schedules
    • Convert qualified leads into scheduled meetings or opportunities for the designated Sales team
  • Collaboration & Feedback Loop:

    • Partner Sales Support to refine prospecting targeting and messaging
    • Provide Marketing with real-world insights about campaign quality, lead sources, and buyer responses
    • Share competitor info, customer pain points, and emerging trends discovered through outreach activities
  • Tradeshow Coordination:

    • Lead Ascentek's tradeshow and event strategy ("show hunting") by identifying high-impact industry shows, securing bookings, and managing planning timelines and logistics
    • Partner with Marketing to develop and refresh event materials (messaging, collateral, booth assets) aligned to target audiences and campaign priorities
    • Coordinate with Sales on event execution (staffing, meeting setting, lead capture process) to maximize pipeline impact
    • Drive post-event follow-through by collecting after-action reports, ensuring all leads are logged and assigned in Salesforce, and confirming timely Sales follow-up on every qualified contact
    • Attend shows periodically to gain market and prospect knowledge
  • Performance & Reporting:

    • Track KPIs such as:
      • Number of new leads generated
      • Outreach volume (calls, emails, sequences)
      • Conversion rate to qualified lead
      • Meetings booked for Sales
      • Contribution to pipeline value
  • Core Customer Support & Retention:

    • Help manage customer engagement/entertainment investments:

      • Sports event ticket coordination - fill event calendar by working with Sales to identify customer engagement

      • Propose new investments to provide a world class experience for our customers

    • Support sales activities related to the Hook n Horn, our world class fly in resort:

      • Hook N' Horn event tracking and opportunities development
      • Identify the best core customers and prospects to be eligible
      • Participate in Hook N' Horn events periodically to support sales and program development

Experience and/or Training:
  • 3 years minimum work experience in inside sales or a sales function; preferably in the petro-chemical industry
  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Dynamics, HubSpot)
  • Proven outbound prospecting experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • High comfort with outreach activity (cold calling, emailing, social selling)
  • Ability to research organizations and map complex buying groups
  • Time management and ability to handle high-volume task flows
  • Motivated, curious, and comfortable initiating conversations
  • Organized and disciplined with CRM hygiene and follow-through
  • Interest in technology, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
  • Team-oriented and receptive to coaching
  • Growth mindset with a track record of initiative, continuous improvement, and contributing to team and company success

Experience and/or Training:
  • Experience in inside sales or a sales function in the petro-chemical industry
  • Hands on CRM discipline (updating records, tracking activity, managing pipeline stages)
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline (not just support it)
  • Advanced prospecting and targeting skills utilizing tools like Salesforce, Seamless AI, LinkedIn Sales Navigator

Success Indicators (First 90 Days):
  • Establish full outbound sequence schedule
  • Become a subject matter expert in Seamless.AI (led generation software/application)
  • Generate the first set of qualified leads for Sales
  • Show reliable CRM (Salesforce) pipeline logging
  • Demonstrate understanding of Ascentek's product portfolio and value propositions

The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $65,000 and $70,000 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:
  1. Experience and qualifications: The depth of relevant experience and specific skills you bring to the position.
  2. Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
