With expertise spanning civil/site engineering, environmental permitting, transportation infrastructure, construction management, and advanced surveying technologies, we are committed to delivering high-quality, timely solutions to local, state, and federal clients.
The Position

As a multidisciplinary firm, Artheon works with public and private sector clients throughout New Jersey, providing a wide range of planning services including comprehensive master planning, redevelopment planning, affordable housing planning, and technical professional planning support to municipal Planning and Zoning Boards.
This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in planning while working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and interested in learning all aspects of municipal and land use planning.

  • Prepare maps, reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for planning projects.
  • Assist with development applications and help ensure projects comply with municipal and state regulations.
  • Attend meetings with clients, municipal staff, Planning Boards, and Zoning Boards, and assist with meeting preparation and follow-up.
  • Support public outreach efforts, including community meetings, workshops, and public hearings.
  • Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, landscape architects, and other project team members to support project delivery.
  • Maintain project files and assist with day-to-day project coordination.

  • 1-3 years of planning experience through full-time employment, internships, or co-op experience.
  • Working knowledge of land use planning principles and zoning regulations.
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, and planning research tools is preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative consulting environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL) is a plus.
  • Progress toward AICP certification and New Jersey Professional Planner (PP) licensure or an interest in pursuing professional licensure is encouraged but not required.

Benefits
The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
Artheon offers a competitive compensation package including medical, prescription, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, educational assistance program and paid time off/parental leave.
