Job description

Job Overview: The Digital Arts and Design teacher will be responsible for courses related to the digital arts and design field. The Digital Arts & Design program of study is for students interested in pursuing careers as multimedia artists, animators, graphic designers, and communications specialists. Course content is designed to develop strong knowledge in communications technologies, animation and software applications, digital graphics, motion graphics, and more for a broad range of business and industry applications. Students will leverage digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information, and apply design skills in the communication of materials as they would for an organization or company. Upon completion of the program of study, students will be prepared to pursue advanced study in graphic design or communications, or seek entry level employment with such organizations. The Digital Arts and Design teacher will also be responsible for sponsoring an active Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) through SkillsUSA, which enthusiastically competes in local, regional, state, and national skills competitions and events. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a "Quality Program of Study" as directed by the TDOE CCTE Department, maintain compliance with state and federal funding requirements, and provide complete, compliant, and on-time Size, Scope, and Quality Indicators (SSQI) documentation on a yearly basis. The principal may assign extra co-curricular duties, meetings, committees, and professional development throughout the school year.
Job Functions:
  • Prepare teaching plans, demonstration plans, and teaching materials for all classes.
  • Prepare and evaluate teaching schedule, curriculum, and teaching calendars.
  • Conduct field trips, both in and out of district.
  • Coordinate, maintain inventories, and keep record of the agriculture materials and equipment for classrooms and other assigned teaching areas.
  • Assist students in preparing applications for proficiency awards, state and American Degrees, etc.
  • Plan and attend evening activities including but not limited to: recruitment events, consulting committee meetings and awards ceremonies.
  • Be willing to obtain license endorsement for transportation of students.
  • Cooperate in maintaining, planning, and improving the physical facilities.
  • Contribute to the grant writing process for acquisition of agriculture equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Complete and file required reports with appropriate agencies including the State Department of Education.
