SMTBUSA's mission is to provide world-class global custody services and securities lending* services for mainly Japanese institutional investors, their overseas branches and affiliates, and to the financial institutions responsible for their investments.
SMTBUSA began its securities lending services in US fixed income market in 1988 and has since expanded to include non-US fixed income markets, as well as, equity lending in over 20 major markets worldwide. On the global custody services, SMTBUSA has expanded its network to cover 96 markets and focuses on providing value-added services both in English and Japanese, which include, but not limited, to corporate action events, newsletters and reporting.
Job Description
We are seeking a bilinugal Japanese candidate to assist in the following:
Planning
Assist the management of Corporate Planning to design, coordinate, implement and monitor bank-wide projects. Assist in semi-annual bank-wide planning and budgeting & expense control. Prepare analytical reports to Tokyo in Japanese.
Assist to maintain the data related to the Bank's Custodial and Securities Lending Business and to analyze the profitability and future prospects to develop the strategy. Assist in market research related to Custodial Business and in analysis of the gap between the Bank and Markets.
General Affairs (General Administration)
Performs administrative work on accounts payable related tasks.
JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Researches information from various sources like Internet, information vendors, banking regulators and other US global custodians etc.
  2. Assists in preparing annual Business Plan and in monitoring the budget and expenses.
  3. Analyzes the collected information and prepare reports for management review.
  4. Assists in coordinating, implementing and monitoring bank-wide projects relating to Risks and Managerial Accounting to improve efficiency and resource allocation.
  5. Assists Planning management in day to day operations.
  6. Coordinates Tokyo-related matters and monitoring related documents, as required.
  7. Translates important documents as needed.
  8. Supports General Affairs tasks as instructed by management.
  9. Perform all functions as assigned by management.
  10. Assists in preparing annual Business Plan by coordinating and organizing the objectives and budget plans prepared by Promotion Section.
  11. Assists in preparing the objectives and budget plans that are not prepared by Promotion Section.
  12. Conducts periodical Market Research and Gap Analysis to analyze current market situation and Bank's standing position.
  13. Administers Accounts Payable
  14. Supports General Affairs (General Administration) tasks as instructed by management
  15. Provide high quality work by ensuring accuracy and seeking to continuously improve our processes and platforms by embracing new and better ways of doing things.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  2. Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Japanese.
  3. Good interpersonal skills.
  4. Good PC skills. Proficient in Microsoft applications such as excel, Word and PowerPoint.
