Job description

Title: F ixed Asset Processor
Location: Orlando, FL
Duration: 3+ month contract to perm
Compensation: $20-$22/hour
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
F ixed Asset Processor
Under general supervision, this role is responsible for the processing and reviewing fixed assets for Darden restaurant locations. This individual will apply fixed asset polices and capitalization guidelines during review of invoices and construction documents.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review, process, and record fixed assets associated with existing restaurants, new and remodel restaurants (as needed). Primary focus will be on existing restaurants.
  • Interpret and apply fixed asset policies and capitalization guidelines during the review of invoices and construction documents.
  • Process asset retirements (as needed).
  • Review repair and maintenance accounts for items that can be capitalized monthly.
  • Scan and index documents.
  • Assist in preparing and processing accrual journal entries to record depreciation estimates for assets which have not yet been booked.
  • Work on other special projects as needed.

REQUIRED/RECOMMENDED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ability to create V-Lookups, a plus.
  • Proficiency with other Microsoft programs, including Word and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting processes and practices.
  • Experienced with Oracle and Discoverer, or equivalent systems & reporting tools is a plus.
  • General accounting knowledge including preparation of journal entries and understanding of balance sheet/income statement relationship.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of three years of experience in accounting (e.g., processing invoices and requisitions, payroll processing, vendor accounts, stop payments, journal/ledger maintenance and posting, etc.) or one year of experience in analytical and reconciliation preparation accounting.
  • Associate or undergraduate degree in Accounting preferred.

OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Helpful attitude, demonstrates teamwork.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume workload.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibits a sense of urgency, understands the importance of month-end closing deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Hospitality industry experience preferred.
