Entry-Level Customs Entry Writer


We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused entry-level Customs Entry Writer to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates with at least 1 year of customs entry writing experience or those with freight forwarding experience looking to transition into a customs brokerage environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and file customs entries for import/export shipments
  • Process documentation through CargoWise and obtain Customs and PGA (e.g., FDA, DOT, USDA) releases
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and other government agencies
  • Monitor and respond to Customs rejections, requests for information, and client correspondence
  • Maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-level customer service
  • Track shipments and verify documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of customs brokerage experience or 3+ years of freight forwarding experience
  • Stable work history with demonstrated career longevity
  • Experience with CargoWise is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Incoterms, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and U.S. Customs regulations
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and data entry skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in PC systems and email/phone communication
  • Knowledge of domestic and international geography (ports, countries, major cities) preferred
  • Authorized to work in the United States
