Summary:
Lost Draw has deep roots in the High Plains of West Texas and has quickly established itself as one of the most prominent and respected wine brands and destinations in the Texas Hill Country. Our aim is to grow and share the best wines that can be made using Texas-grown grapes and provide an experiential and educational wine tasting in a beautiful and welcoming setting. We are unpretentious, but we are incredibly serious about growing and sharing premium Texas wine.
Essential functions
• Entry level position
• Provide support to Tasting Room Ambassadors and winery staff to ensure timely delivery of wine orders and a positive guest experience
• Stock and supply wines in cold storage and production area
• Keep Welcome Center and Tasting Room stocked
• Take direction and feedback and stay on task in a constantly changing environment
• Provide event support – collecting and delivering equipment and supplies
• Setting up and breaking down events and running errands as directed
• Maintain a healthy, safe, positive, welcoming work environment for oneself and co-workers
• Focus on repetitive tasks, such as polishing glasses, for an extended period of time in a positive efficient manner
• Greet guests with a positive attitude and assist with general inquiries working to ensure every guest feels welcome and receives attentive service
• Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays
Other Duties:
• Additional duties as assigned
Competencies
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
• A strong and proven work ethic
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy items (45 lbs) repeatedly
• Transport supplies, equipment, and furniture between facilities and different areas of the winery
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• An interest in wine and the winery environment is a plus
• TABC and Food certification required – may be completed once hired.
Supervisory responsibilities
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment
• Must be able to work in an environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.
Physical demands
• Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. on regular basis
• Limited breaks
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, including hot and cold weather
Travel and remote work
• This position requires on-site work on a regular basis
• Travel to and from the main worksite (daily commute) is at the expense of the employee and is not considered time worked
