About SecureSky

SecureSky provides outsourced cybersecurity services that strengthen and supplement our clientsโ€™ security operations and posture. Our clients span energy, manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, real estate, insurance, and local government.

Position Highlights

SecureSky is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Specialist to join our operations team and help protect clients across a rapidly evolving threat landscape. This is a true entry-level opportunity for early-career professionals looking to build a foundation in threat detection and response, and in the enablement of cybersecurity controls that reduce client risk exposure.

This position supports SecureSkyโ€™s Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, utilizing Microsoft Sentinel SIEM/SOAR, Microsoft Defender XDR, and SecureSkyโ€™s proprietary Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) platform to help clients continuously reduce attack surfaces and improve security controls. Youโ€™ll work across Microsoftโ€™s security ecosystem including identity, endpoint protection, data security, cloud app governance, detection engineering, and SecOps automation.

Who We Are Looking For

Weโ€™ll equip you with the tools, training, and guidance you need, while giving you the space to chart your own path to success. Weโ€™re looking for people who love cybersecurity, enjoy helping clients, and want to collaborate to grow both their own capabilities and SecureSkyโ€™s.

What You Will Do
  • Threat Monitoring and Triage. Monitor systems, process security event notifications, and triage events to determine whether escalation is required.
  • Threat Detection and Response. Identify threats, investigate alerts, document investigation activities, and support incident response and escalations.
  • Proactive Risk Identification. Perform threat and exposure hunting on a scheduled, recurring basis, running queries, interpreting results, and populating client reporting documents based on user behaviors, misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, indicators of compromise, and threat intelligence signals.
  • Security Technology Deployment. Support the planning, configuration, deployment, and optimization of Microsoft security tools.
  • Client Communication. Effectively communicate with SecureSky clients during escalations and on a regular basis supporting their security initiatives.
  • Process and Content Development. Contribute to repeatable security content, detection logic, and playbooks.
What You Bring
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent, with a concentration or substantial coursework in cybersecurity (relevant certifications, internships, or hands-on lab experience also considered).
  • Foundational knowledge of common cybersecurity attack vectors, threat intelligence concepts, and security technologies.
  • 0 to 1 years of practical experience in threat investigations, incident response, SOC/SecOps environments, or deployment of security technologies (internships and academic projects count).
  • Basic understanding of cloud, SaaS, networking, and cybersecurity concepts (e.g., identity and access management, data storage and transmission, application operations).
  • Curiosity, adaptability, a desire for continued learning and collaboration, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Note: Candidates will be expected to achieve Microsoft SC-200 certification within 60 days of hire, and to annually maintain this certification during their tenure with SecureSky. Learn more: Microsoft SC-200 certification details

If youโ€™re excited to launch your cybersecurity career, collaborate with a supportive team, and help clients strengthen their security posture, weโ€™d love to talk.
