Company Description Hilton’s Flowers and Gifts is a local retail flower and gift shop serving the Highland, CA community with personalized floral designs and curated gift selections. The shop focuses on creating fresh, high-quality arrangements for occasions such as everyday celebrations, holidays, weddings, and sympathy events. Team members work closely with customers to deliver thoughtful, customized products that reflect individual preferences and styles. Hilton’s Flowers and Gifts values reliability, creativity, and friendly service, and offers a supportive, hands-on environment for developing floral design skills.

Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Floral Designer role based in Highland, CA. The Floral Designer will create fresh flower arrangements and bouquets for walk-in customers, phone orders, and special events. Day-to-day responsibilities include selecting and conditioning flowers, designing arrangements according to customer requests and store standards, and maintaining a clean, organized work area and display cases. The role involves assisting customers with product selection, processing sales transactions, and preparing orders for pickup and delivery. The Floral Designer will also help with merchandising, basic inventory tasks, and occasional gift packaging to support overall shop operations.

Qualifications

  • Floral Design and Flower Arrangements skills, including the ability to create balanced, aesthetically pleasing designs for various occasions.
  • Customer Service skills, with the ability to listen to customer needs, provide recommendations, and communicate clearly and courteously.
  • Creativity Skills to develop original designs, adapt to customer preferences, and follow seasonal and themed concepts.
  • Sales skills to support in-store transactions, suggest complementary products, and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Basic knowledge of flower care and handling, including conditioning, storage, and freshness management.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work efficiently during peak periods.
  • Comfort with working on-site, standing for extended periods, and performing light physical tasks such as lifting and moving arrangements.
  • Previous experience in floral design, retail, or a related creative field is preferred but not required.
