What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?
This entry level O&M Technician position will make you part of a team that operates the Plymouth, MA Wastewater Treatment Facilities. Woodard & Curran O&M staff are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plants, collection systems, and ancillary equipment at these sites. Each day presents different challenges and learning opportunities as we work towards 100% compliance which is achieved by daily process monitoring and a comprehensive maintenance system. This full-time position will assist the Facilities with operations and maintenance projects, general facility and grounds maintenance, laboratory analysis, record keeping, and process control.
Essential Duties include:
  • Participates in the daily operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility as directed by the Plant/Project Manager.
  • Participates in the daily operations and maintenance of the collection system and all associated components as directed by the Plant/Project Manager.
  • Assists with the preventative maintenance and repair of all plant related equipment.
  • Daily inspections and rounds of the operating sites.
  • Gathering information for report generation, including data for preparing the Monthly Operating Report.
  • Coordinates with operations staff to ensure that established administrative, safety, and operating policies are followed.

Our operators participate in an "on call" rotation for plant coverage outside normal workday hours and shifts may include weekends. In addition, operators will be required to respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed. The general daily schedule is Monday - Friday, 7.00AM - 3.30PM and flexibility will be required.

What will you need to succeed?
  • A strong work ethic and the desire to learn
  • Operation and maintenance experience at a wastewater treatment facility, or any equivalent combination of similar work experience and education.
  • Massachusetts Grade 3 license preferred or the ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other personnel, and the general public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with biological/chemical treatment processes with particular aptitude for laboratory analysis, record keeping, and facility maintenance.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

$21 - $25 an hour
