Primary Job Functions

  • Repairs with little guidance on all product types. 
  • Completes all repair types of entry level with additional skills requirements.  
  • Performs minor repair on top of surface of case pieces and tables.   
  • Performs solid color paper/side refinishes. 
  • Performs small corner damages that requires rebuild.  
  • Has general understanding of spray booth set up and use.  
  • Performs advance replacement part repairs. 
  • Communicates any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware needed as well as keeping repair area/shop clean. 
  • Help to inspect damaged products and conveys if they can be repaired to like new conditions. 
  • Works with warehouse personnel on techniques of minor touch up on products during the inspection process. 
  • Documents and follows through on recurring product damages. 
  • Assist other technicians. 
  • Accurately reports situations that occur when repairs cannot be completed. 
  • Must be able to assess damages to determine the most efficient way to repair them. 
  • Identifies damage, loss or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse. 
  • Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions. 
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. 
  • Maintains proper safety usage of all products that are used within the department.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle, including maintaining required repair materials and supplies.
  • Adhere to driving policy for company vehicles, including meeting annual MVR review requirements.
  • Follow the planned route to ensure on-time arrival for Customer repairs.
  • Safe operation of hand and power hand tools, especially drills, impact drivers, and multi-tools.
  • Complete bench testing evaluations for regular validation of skills. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1-year practical work experience in furniture repair including upholstery, leather repairs and wood refinishing OR similar experience working with other materials and completing color matching.
  • Read, understand, and write in the English language, additional languages beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to learn in-house computer programs.
  • Valid Driver’s License and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per company guidelines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus to reading reports, view computer screen, etc.
  • Must be able to hear and understand speech to interact with others.
  • Must be able to speak so that others will be able to understand.
  • Will remain in a seated position for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with both hands to include keyboarding,
    handwriting, office/POS equipment and handheld equipment operation.
  • Will remain on one’s feet in an upright position and move about on foot.
  • Will bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach at or above shoulder level.
  • Will lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and more with assistance.
  • Will work predominately in a private home or retail establishment; occasionally work at warehouse locations.
  • Potential exposure to oil, latex, and spray paint, household chemicals, biological odors and household dust; moderate office noise.
