Our Bakery Associates help bring warmth and comfort to Joseph’s Classic Market by supporting daily production, packaging baked goods, and assisting customers with their selections. From morning pastries to special desserts, the Bakery is a place where attention to detail truly matters.

As a Bakery Associate, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting daily bakery operations, expand your knowledge of baked goods and food presentation, and develop valuable skills that can open the door to future opportunities within the Bakery department and beyond. Routine Tasks:

  • Provide excellent customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized suggestions
  • Maintain product freshness through regular rotation and quality checks
  • Restock and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness
  • Take and fulfill custom/special orders from customers
  • Accurately package, label, and price self-service items
  • Operate bakery equipment safely, including ovens, knives, bread slicers, scales, and other Bakery equipment
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior bakery or food preparation experience preferred
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
  • Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • A passion for serving people

Physical & Work Environment

A Bakery Associate works primarily in the Bakery department. This role involves walking and standing for extended periods, lifting and moving products weighing up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced retail environment. Frequent interaction with customers and fellow team members is an essential part of the role.
