Pearl Abyss America, Inc. - the team behind Black Desert and the upcoming titles Crimson Desert and DokeV - is seeking a high-performing, creative, results-oriented, and quality-obsessed Community Specialist to help accelerate our gaming reach to millions of players across all platforms (PC and Console) in North America.

The video game industry is transforming how players are entertained, communicating with each other, and interacting online and on their digital devices. Our team is looking for a Community Specialist with an entrepreneurial spirit and relentless tenacity to get things done. You'll be empowered to be an advocate for players' voices and a liaison between them and the development team - constantly managing the conversations, feedback, and proactively building bridges and trust within the community.

Our Community Specialists genuinely love video games, the players, and their communities; their passion for games helps them improve the quality of the game's live service. In this role, you will actively interact with the players both in-game and in the community - working closely with other team members in the live service department.

This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to ensure all of Pearl Abyss' current and future titles will achieve North American goals.

LOCATION: Manhattan Beach, CA (on-site)

JOB TYPE: Full-time

PAY RANGE: $21 - $25 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and nurture positive relationships with players through consistent community interaction across all official platforms
  • Gather and deliver community feedback to game developers for game improvements
  • Create and execute engaging community event plans, both in-game and offline
  • Work closely with the Content Production team to create engaging streams or video content
  • Assist with brainstorming posts and creating visual assets and copywriting for social postings
  • Manage our content creator program by supporting partner influencer growth and success through item giveaways, event support, and content reveals
  • Respond to live game issues that occur in-game and write up appropriate notices on official platforms when necessary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of work experience in the video game industry, especially in community management, customer support, QA, or related fields
  • Experience in social media management (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge and gameplay of MMORPG games
  • Prior experience interacting with gaming communities (forums, social media user groups, etc.)
  • Experience in social content creation and posting, calendar publishing, asset creation, copywriting, reporting, and analytics
  • Strong customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills for announcements or forum notices, with a great sense of humor
  • Ability to quickly problem solve, communicate, and deliver the best results in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and grow
  • Professional and mature demeanor, along with strong time-management and organization skills for coordinating multiple initiatives and priorities

*Travel may be required for this position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or any equivalent work experience
  • Experience as a content creator, cosplayer, or live streamer within the video game community
  • Graphic design or video production/editing skills
  • Avid Black Desert player
  • Passion for video games with an interest in MMORPGs
  • Bilingual in English/Korean is a plus
