ABOUT THE ROLE
The Broadcast Reliability Engineer helps build and operate the intelligent monitoring and automation platforms that power one of the nation's premier broadcasters. As part of our Broadcast Reliability team, you'll develop software, automate workflows, and leverage AI-driven monitoring to help ensure FOX content is delivered reliably across linear broadcast, Video on Demand (VOD), streaming, and emerging media platforms. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including machine learning, intelligent automation, and real-time observability, to solve complex operational challenges at scale.

This position supports a 24/7 broadcast operation. While the role is primarily scheduled during daytime hours, flexibility to provide evening or overnight coverage for live events and critical operational activities is expected as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience working on software-based design, development, or technical support projects
  • Strong analytical, reasoning, and technical troubleshooting skills are essential
  • Previous experience with architecture, deployment, or administration of monitoring, alerting, and/or data analysis systems in on-premises and cloud environments is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly document technical issues and present findings
  • Experience with software development using C# and/or Python; familiarity with REST APIs, Git, and scripting/automation is preferred
  • Experience with production video and broadcast operations
  • Experience with IP networking and broadcast workflows (SMPTE ST 2110, ST 2022-6, multicast, PTP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms such as Skyline DataMiner or similar enterprise monitoring and automation solutions is a plus
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts, including anomaly detection, predictive monitoring, and AI-assisted operational workflows
  • Experience utilizing AI-assisted development platforms to support scripting, code analysis, troubleshooting, API integration, automation development, and technical documentation

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Experience with the Skyline DataMiner platform, including protocols, connectors, dashboards, automations, or low-code applications, is a major plus
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability platforms (e.g., ELK/Elastic Stack, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar)
  • Experience with incident management workflows and integrations with ServiceNow, Slack, or similar platforms
  • Proficient with data formats and configuration languages including XML and JSON
  • Familiarity with SQL, time-series databases, or data visualization tools is a plus
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $39.75-42.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
