Job description

Not a desk job person? Us either

This role is WAY more fun... One day you’re walking through a luxury home capturing bright, beautiful spaces. The next you’re driving through different neighborhoods, meeting new people, helping local real estate agents grow their business, and learning new creative skills along the way.

Every day looks a little different in this role.

We know the job title says "Photographer," but the truth is, we're not photographers first. We're customer service reps who happen to hold a camera :)

This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Enjoys being out and about instead of sitting behind a desk
  • Likes working independently
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Enjoys interacting with people
  • Wants flexibility, variety, and room to grow

PERSONALITY is HUGE for this role. We’re looking for someone who is outgoing, coachable, reliable, and someone clients genuinely enjoy being around.

About the Role

We’re hiring a dependable, friendly, and positive team member to join our growing real estate media company serving Hickory and surrounding areas.

No photography experience is required. We provide:

  • Paid training
  • Professional equipment
  • Step-by-step systems and processes

We can teach the technical side.

What matters most is:

  • Personality
  • Professionalism
  • Reliability
  • Communication
  • Willingness to learn

You’ll work directly with homeowners and real estate agents, capture listing media using our systems and shot guidelines, and help create a smooth, professional experience for every client.

What You’ll Do

  • Travel locally to residential properties for scheduled appointments
  • Capture interior and exterior real estate photos using a structured shot list
  • Represent the company professionally with agents and homeowners
  • Upload media after each shoot (no editing required)
  • Learn additional services over time, including drone photography and video
  • Most photographers complete 2-4 homes per day depending on the schedule

Schedule & Availability

  • Approximately 30 hours/week (varies seasonally)
  • Must be available at least 5 days a week
  • Most shoots take place Monday-Friday between 9:00am - Dusk
  • Occasional Saturday availability may be needed
  • Schedule and weekly hours may vary depending on booking volume
  • Local travel throughout Hickory and surrounding areas required (Lenoir, Morganton, etc.)

One of the best parts of this role is the flexibility and variety. No two days are exactly the same, and if you enjoy a role where you’re constantly moving, meeting people, and working in different environments, you’ll probably love it here.

Compensation & Growth

  • Paid training: $20/hour (approx. 3-4 weeks)
  • Pay increases after training based on services performed
  • Most photographers earn the equivalent of $25-$30/hour once fully trained
  • Mileage reimbursement at $0.30/mile

There is also strong opportunity to continue growing into drone, video, and advanced media services over time.

We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with the company for years, not months. As the business expands, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities, increase earnings, earn certifications, and potentially move into leadership and training roles.

What We’re Looking For

  • Friendly, professional, and dependable personality
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Organized and able to follow systems/checklists consistently
  • Comfortable using apps and basic technology
  • Reliable vehicle and willingness to drive locally
  • Coachable and open to feedback
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Photography experience is NOT required. We care far more about attitude, professionalism, reliability, and willingness to learn.

This Role Might NOT Be For You If...

  • You strongly dislike driving or being on the road throughout the day
  • You prefer a highly predictable, routine-based work environment
  • You get overwhelmed by changing schedules or varying day-to-day workloads
  • You dislike customer service or face-to-face interaction
  • You’re looking for a traditional office-style role
  • You’re primarily looking for a short-term job or temporary side gig

Why People Enjoy This Role

  • Paid training provided
  • Flexible schedule with variety day-to-day
  • No office environment
  • Every property is different
  • Opportunity to learn drone and advanced media services
  • Independent work environment with supportive team training
  • Long-term growth opportunities within the company

If you’re dependable, outgoing, and excited about a role that combines creativity, independence, flexibility, and working with people, and you’re looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing company, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and we’ll reach out with next steps!
