Schedule: Full-time
The Triangle's premier Emergency and Specialty Hospitals are growing! We are looking for highly motivated, highly skilled individuals to join our team on both 1st and 2nd shift. Together with our TVRH Hospital in Durham, we provide 24-hour emergency service and specialty referrals in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, radiology, dermatology and rehabilitation.
We are looking for technicians and assistants who want to utilize their skills to the fullest potential in a fast paced, fun, and stimulating environment. These roles function with a great deal of autonomy and responsibility; solid technical skills, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and with a team are required.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide nursing care to critically ill hospitalized patients in conjunction with specialty and emergency veterinarians
  • Triage incoming patients
  • Assess patient stability and obtain patient vital signs
  • Perform diagnostics and treatments of emergency, specialty and hospitalized patients
  • Perform hourly patient assessment and monitoring
  • Observe patients and recognize changes in status
  • Place peripheral and central catheters
  • Restrain patients for exams and treatments
  • Set up and administer IV and SQ fluids
  • Maintain urinary catheters
  • Bandage removal and application
  • Perform suture and drain removal
  • Perform drug dose calculations for injectable medications and CRIs
  • Administer injectable medications (IV, IM, SQ)
  • Administer other medications (PO, OU, OD)
  • Maintain isolation protocols for infectious patients
  • Basic wound cleaning and care
  • Administer injectable and inhalant anesthesia
  • Monitor patients while under anesthesia and maintain a monitoring log
  • Monitor patients during recovery from anesthesia
  • Obtain samples for and perform in house laboratory testing
  • Assist in CPCR
  • Client communication and education
  • Patient triage and discharge
  • Hospitalized patient care
  • Patient monitoring and treatments
  • In-house laboratory testing
  • Medication calculation and administration
