About the job Insurance Underwriting Support Specialist
Our client is seeking an Underwriting Services Assistantto support underwriting operations by completing entry-level policy transactions, managing workflow from shared queues, and triaging emails within a shared inbox. This role is ideal for candidates with insurance or mortgage operations exposure who are comfortable in a production-driven environment and eager to grow.

Contract Duration: 6-12 months (potential to convert) | W2
Work Schedule:9AM-3PM
Work Model: Hybrid - 3 days onsite; Thursday anchor day
Please Note: Candidates residing within a reasonable commuting distance of 30-45 minutes will only be considered
Responsibilities:

  • Triage, route, and organize emails within a shared mailbox.
  • Maintain accuracy, documentation standards, and throughput expectations.
  • Participate in side-by-side training; all work is reviewed until authority is earned.
  • Process entry-level underwriting tasks including binds, endorsements, cancellations, and basic policy changes.
  • Work from production queues and an Outlook-based workflow to complete assigned items accurately and on time.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
  • Proficiency with Excel and Outlook.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience working from queues/shared inboxes.
  • Ability to learn quickly, follow structured processes, and maintain accuracy.
  • 1+ year of experience in insurance office, underwriting support, mortgage operations, or similar production environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in high-volume processing or production environments.
  • Exposure to insurance industry workflows (carrier, brokerage, MGA, agency)
