Job description

TRIO Electric - Project Engineer Intern
Location: Fully onsite in office in Houston, TX
This entry-level Project Engineer Intern role is designed to give you maximum exposure to both our field and office operations. The training program is expected to last between 10 to 12 weeks, depending on your availability/school schedule. After graduation, assuming you receive a full time offer, a Project Manager is the most common next step (this promotion path normally takes 3 years but can be quicker, depending on YOU and your pace), you'll have the chance to explore other exciting opportunities within our different departments.
Project Engineer - What You Will Do
You will play a pivotal part in supporting our team of Project Managers and making sure construction projects are running smoothly from start to finish.
  • Support and maintain data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, contractors/subcontractors, or other project-related entities
  • Participate in and maintain document and project control systems and procedures.
  • Attend project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses
  • Obtain, track, and document contractor and subcontractor contractual requirements (and construction plans and specs) on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment as directed by project manager
  • Assist in project closeout procedures
You will support multiple projects concurrently. You will work in the office and out in the field (estimated 70% of your time will be performed in the field or on job sites). No overnight travel.
