Project Engineer / Assistant Project ManagerPosition SummaryWe are seeking a motivated Engineer with strong technical aptitude and a desire to grow into Project Management within the construction and industrial manufacturing industry. This role serves as a bridge between engineering, project execution, customers, and field operations, providing opportunities to lead projects from concept through completion.The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting engineering drawings, coordinating technical and construction-related activities, managing project budgets, and building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Candidates with Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the planning, execution, and delivery of construction and industrial projects.Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, field installation, and customer teams to ensure successful project execution.Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting.Participate in project meetings and communicate status updates to key stakeholders.Review change orders, submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.Collaborate with customers to understand project requirements and provide exceptional service throughout project execution.Identify project risks and develop solutions to maintain project timelines and budgets.Support site visits, field coordination, and construction activities as needed.Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and company procedures.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.2+ years of engineering, construction, manufacturing, or project coordination experience.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.Understanding of project budgeting, cost control, and financial concepts.Strong organizational and project coordination skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project documentation tools.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting construction, industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.Exposure to project management principles, scheduling, and project controls.Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar design software.Experience reviewing contracts, change orders, and construction documentation.Knowledge of mechanical systems, structural systems, or industrial equipment.EIT certification or interest in pursuing professional development in project management.Desired CharacteristicsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Natural relationship builder who communicates effectively with customers, contractors, and internal teams.Driven to advance into a Project Manager role.Comfortable balancing technical engineering responsibilities with business and financial considerations.Adaptable, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced project environment.Career PathThis position offers a clear growth path into Project Management, providing hands-on exposure to project planning, customer engagement, budgeting, construction coordination, and execution of large-scale industrial projects.
