Job Summary : UNC Health is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist to join the Diagnostic Radiology department at UNC Medical Center. The technologist will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures while ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and compliance with departmental protocols and healthcare standards.
Candidates with large hospital experience, portable imaging experience, and C-arm/OR experience are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations following departmental protocols and physician orders.
Verify patient identity, obtain relevant patient history, and ensure accurate demographic information.
Operate radiographic equipment safely and effectively, including portable imaging equipment and C-arm systems.
Review and evaluate images for quality assurance before transmitting to PACS.
Utilize RIS, PACS, CIS, HIS, and SMS systems appropriately for documentation and workflow management.
Maintain image management systems and report equipment issues promptly.
Monitor patient conditions during procedures and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Ensure radiation safety standards are followed, including pregnancy screening protocols.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Assist with workflow coordination and support coworkers and students when needed.
Required Certifications
ARRT Certification in Radiography (RT(R))
Active ARRT registry status maintained annually
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
