Title:Trauma Program Specialist - Trauma Center - Danbury Hospital - Full Time- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Summary:
The Trauma Program Specialist supports the daily operations of the Trauma Center at Danbury Hospital, working closely with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD), Trauma Program Manager (TPM), to ensure effective coordination and delivery of trauma care services. The Trauma Program Specialist plays a key role in facilitating communication and collaboration among departments involved in trauma care by helping to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care across the continuum. Responsibilities include supporting the ACS reverification process, facilitating education and training initiatives, processing trauma call payments, maintaining essential supplies. The coordinator plays a key role in sustaining high-quality trauma care across the entire patient care continuum.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide administrative support to the Trauma Medical Director including calendar management, coordinating meetings and other administrative responsibilities.
2. Publish the Acute Care Surgery schedule and communicate schedule changes promptly.
3. Support the hospital Level II Trauma designation including assist with preparation for trauma reverification by coordinating and communicating with multidisciplinary departments for the 2 day visit. This includes maintenance of records related to trauma program requirements, preparation of documents required for the reverification, and all administrative aspects of the reverification requirements and the reverification visit.
4. Coordinate and distribute loop closure documentation for all trauma patient transfers to acute care facilities, collaborating with the Trauma Performance Improvement nurse to ensure appropriate documentation is identified, completed and delivered to the correct recipients in a HIPPA compliant manner.
5. Assist with the planning and administrative support for trauma education programs including staff training sessions, the annual Trauma Symposium, and various community education events.
6. Manage requirements in the EEDs platform to ensure CE credits will be provided for educational events when appropriate.
7. Assist with vendor coordination, including procurement and processing of payments.
8. Support the development and distribution of promotional and advertising material for all educational events.
9. Provide administrative support for the implementation and dissemination of clinical patient guidelines (CPG), policies and processes in collaboration with the TMD, TPM and the PI nurse.
10. Assist in monitoring compliance with established guidelines by collecting relevant data to support performance improvement activities and demonstrate adherence to CPGs.
11. Monitor and maintain inventory of trauma-related supplies and equipment; place orders as needed.
12. Process monthly trauma call payments for surgical specialties, including verifying accuracy, generating invoices, and submitting check requests.
13. Performs other duties as required for effective operations of the Trauma Program.
14. Maintains and models the organizational values.

Education Skills Experience:
Associate degree in a science or healthcare related field or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience providing administrative support in related role, in health care preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Strong organizational, communication, and data management skills.
Salary Range: $23.64 - $45.92 Hourly
